PITTSBURGH, PA - Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers stated that they would prefer to send all-pro wideout Antonio Brown to an NFC team for "competitive" reasons. They have also ruled out the New England Patriots and all AFC North rivals (Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, & Cleveland Browns) as candidates to receive Brown in a trade.
"I mean, when you're trading away a player like this who could determine your own record and your own Super Bowl potential, of course you want to not trade him to teams that might be a factor," Kevin Colbert said, General Manager of the Steelers.
Earlier Friday, NFL.com reported that three teams have already inquired about Brown per Colbert.
"We've had, I'd say, three teams that have touched base with us and we'll see how that grows," Colbert said.
