On a day when the Pittsburgh Steelers activated one member of the secondary from the NFI list, they may have lost a different member. Cornerback Cam Sutton was forced to leave practice early with an apparent knee injury. While Sutton wasn’t carted off the field, he did leave and head to the locker room and didn’t return.

Following practice head coach Mike Tomlin said that Sutton was being evaluated for a lower body injury, but that was all the information he had on the subject.
The loss of Sutton on Thursday just adds to the list of injuries for Pittsburgh, which already includes fellow cornerback Levi Wallace. That leaves the team without two of its top three CBs, as Akhello Witherspoon is the only healthy one at the moment. While Wallace’s injury/illness isn’t believed to be anything significant, Sutton’s injury is unknown, as is the severity of it.
Sutton was having a solid practice before injuring his knee. As reported by our Brandon Wallace, Sutton intercepted Mitchell Trubisky during 7 shots to stimy the offense.
Sutton had been taking reps from the slot when Wallace was healthy and on the field, but in his absence, he has bounced back outside opposite of Witherspoon.
7 shots drill! Jack and Bush starting middle LB’s! 🔥
1st play, Money Mitch to Pickens for 6 on the slant!!! 🔥 Mitch’s final pass almost picked off by Cam Sutton.
Mason’s 2nd pass is a TD to Sternberger and Kenny hits White in the back of the end zone for his only pass! 🔥

This play came right after he nearly intercepted Trubisky on a pass to the flat intended for running back Anthony McFarland.
OTHER STEELERS INJURYS THURSDAY
The Steelers also lost safety Damontae Kazee for a brief period on Thursday afternoon. Kazee had his hand looked at by the medical staff, but later returned to practice. Offensive tackle Chaz Green was carted off the field for an unknown reason. Some speculated that it could’ve been heat related. But he didn’t return to the field.

The Steelers have always been a central part of my life. I grew up listening to WDVE tapes recorded off of the radio of Steelers fight songs, and wearing Steelers jerseys as a fashion statement. I joined the SteelerNation.com message board when I was 12, and this site has been a big part of my life ever since. I’ve found life long friends and met some of the best people on earth through this site. In 2015, I was able to help revive the site and develop a news website and all of our social media platforms. I can’t wait to continue to grow with all of you. Go Steelers!
