The Steelers might have been trying to stash rookie undrafted free agent Ola Adeniyi on injured reserve for the entire 2018 season, but plans are changing. Anthony Chickillo is reportedly dealing with an ankle injury and the Steelers only carried three outside linebackers on their roster this season. That means with their depth dwindling they may need a boost to the roster.
The Steelers have officially designated Ola Adeniyi with the IR to return. So he will begin practicing today. That gives them 21 days to place him on the active roster or have him spend the entire season on IR. #Steelers #dkps

That will come with Adeniyi who injured his hamstring in the teams final preseason game against Carolina. Reports have stated that Adeniyi has been ready to go for weeks, but with no need to add him to the 53 man roster they haven't let him practice.
Adeniyi had 3 sacks during the preseason, and 2 forced fumbles. He quickly became a fan favorite with his splash plays.
As Dale Lolley reports, the Steelers will have 21 days to decide whether to place Adeniyi on injured reserve for the rest of the season or active him.
