The Steelers will reportedly exercise the fifth-year option on linebacker Bud Dupree's contract. This coming via NFL Network's Ian Rapopport.
The #Steelers have exercised the 5th year option on LB Bud Dupree, source said. The #Cowboys have done the same on CB Byron Jones.

Dupree has had an up and down career to date as he's dealt with multiple injuries including missing the first half of the 2016 season with a soft tissue tear.
At times Dupree has been dominate, but those times have been limited. He set a career high in sacks with 6 last season. Not a mind-blowing number when it comes to outside linebackers in black and gold.
The option will cost the Steelers somewhere in the range of 9 million and would become guaranteed in the case of an injury. Should Dupree have another lack luster season in 2018 the Steelers could move on from him after the season at no cost.
