Steelers Expected to Franchise Tag Bell

With time running out for teams to designate a franchise player, it is expected the Steelers will do so with Le’Veon Bell by tomorrow’s 4pm deadline.

The Steelers and Bell had been optimistic that a deal could have been done even as early as Feb. 20, but progress has staled. The sticking point most likely in guaranteed money.

Should Bell play on the tag he will make 14.55 million this season. Easily making him the highest paid running back for the second consecutive season.
