The matchup that shocked Pittsburgh and solidified Jacksonville's legitimacy this season will happen once again, as the Jags defeated Buffalo today and will move on to face the Steelers in Pittsburgh. We all remember this game for all of the wrong reasons, Ben Roethlisberger threw an uncharacteristic 5 interceptions and Pittsburgh defense put on their worst performance of the season. Jacksonville running back Leonard Fournette had his best game of the season and punished Pittsburgh's run defense as he finished the game with 28 rushing attempts for 181 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. It is obvious that this game was a huge wake-up call for Pittsburgh as they went on to win their next 8 games, and their defense has made huge improvements since the loss.
Pittsburgh will get Antonio Brown back after missing the last few weeks with a calf injury which will surely fire up the Steelers even more to bounce back after that tough loss in Week 5 of the regular season. More notably, Big Ben will look to have a bounce back game and help put Pittsburgh into the AFC Championship game once again.
Roethlisberger even stated previously on 93.7 The Fan that he would like a rematch with the Jags, stating "I'll give you guys one guess who you think I want to play" adding "I'd love to just prove that five interceptions wasn't me in that game."
Pittsburgh has a lot to look forward to as this is a matchup they have definitely sought redemption in, but Jacksonville's defense is no joke as we have watched all season. As long as Pittsburgh can get the offense rolling and the defense can bounce back from the previous matchup, the Steelers should be on their way to the AFC Championship game.
