Let’s hear it for Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Zach Banner, who had his first full padded practice today for the first time since tearing his ACL Week 1 of last season:
Zach Banner, projected starter at RT for the Steelers, is in pads for the first time this year. Nice sight to see for the guy coming off a Week 1 torn ACL.

First team OL today:
— Nick Farabaugh (@Nick_Farabaugh) August 2, 2021
LT: Dan Moore
LG: Rashaad Coward
C: Kendrick Green
RG: Trai Turner
RT: Zach Banner
No Okorafor or Dotson still

Per reports, he participated in 7 shots drills:
Zach Banner and Kevin Dotson back at practice. Both took park in 7 Shots

But after that, Banner did not participate as much. However, he was still being a vocal leader to the o-line per Nick Farabaugh:
Banner is being vocal as hell. Even though he’s not participating in this team period, he’s yelling “LETS GO O-LINE” or taking to the young guys

This is extremely good news, not just for the team, but for Banner himself. It is always great to see an athlete come back from an injury like that. It couldn’t come at a better time, as we have still yet to see the full starting five of the offensive line healthy at camp thus far. Luckily Week 1 is still over a month away to get everyone back healthy.
We congratulate Zach on his successful rehab, and look forward to him holding down the fort at the right tackle position this season!
