It was a crazy week with the COVID-19 scare for this team. Vance McDonald and now Kevin Dotson are the only players missing Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals with COVID-19, and will not count as inactive players since they are on the Covid-19 Reserve List. Ben Roethlisberger, Vince Williams, Jaylen Samuels, and Jerald Hawkins returned to practice and will be active for this game.
Tyson Alualu looks like he will be returning to start on Sunday. This will give the run defense a much needed boost, as they return their highest rated lineman (according to Pro Football Focus).
Mike Hilton is still trying to work back from his shoulder injury, and may still be a week away from playing. Isaiah Buggs was also limited this week, and may get a game to rest since Alualu will be returning.
This week I believe the inactive players will be:
- Josh Dobbs: Healthy scratch / 3rd QB
- Mike Hilton: Questionable, but still seems one week away
- Isaiah Buggs: Questionable, but Carlos Davis and Henry Mondeaux did a good job last week filling in, so no need to rush him back
- Anthony McFarland: Questionable with an illness and I think the Steelers will err on the side of caution this week with their sick players
- Trey Edmunds: If Derek Watt is good to go, this should be the inactive player. If Watt has another setback, he will sit and Edmunds will be active.
Who do you think will be inactive for the Steelers this week? Let us know in the comments below.
