By G.Stryker:
Matt Feiler injured his pectoral in the Jacksonville game, but did not miss a snap because of it. He was held out of practice on Wednesday, but practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday. He will be a game time decision.
Stephon Tuitt and Marcus Gilbert have been ruled out of this week’s game
Anthony Chickillo suffered an ankle injury on the last punt return of the game, but he practiced fully all week and will play.
Ola Adeniyi was called up to the IR/Roster exempt list and is able to practice with the team, and has done so all week. He is not yet rostered, and can’t play in any games. The Steelers have until 12/12/18 to decide on whether they want to roster Ola, though he can be rostered any time before then. When rostered, the Steelers must cut a player or add a player to IR.
I track and try to predict timelines for Steeler players returning to the field. This is a link to our current spreadsheet. It will update on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday after the practice reports are issued, as well as Post-Game and Tuesday after Coach Tomlin's press conferences. Bookmark it to see how the health of the Steelers are shaping up each week.
I believe the inactive players will be:
- Mason Rudolph: Healthy Scratch/ 3rd QB
- Marcus Gilbert: Officially ruled out, so he will not play
- Stephon Tuitt: Officially ruled out, so he will not play
- Justin Hunter: Is back to his role last year, as being the choice for a healthy scratch at WR.
- Marcus Allen: All the safeties are healthy, so he should sit.
- Brian Allen: All of the cornerbacks are healthy, so Brian probably won’t play again this week
- Zach Banner: Matt Feiler’s snaps did increase from Thursday to Friday, so I’m trending him to be ready today. If Matt can’t go, Banner will be active in his place.
After getting 7/7 correct last game, my predictions are 63/70 on the year.
