Pittsburgh Steelers star safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick took to the media on Thursday ahead of this Sunday's upcoming matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fitzpatrick is in the midst of another All-Pro caliber season, and has been a big part as to why the Steelers are off to a 9-0 start.
When asked about "being on the same page" and having the "same goal" as a defense from the very start of the season through now, Fitzpatrick couldn't have agreed more:
"Yeah, I can attest to that. I think everybody that's here, there are no individuals. That's something I said last year when I first got here as well. There was not a lot of ego. We all have it naturally, especially as football players and men, we have ego, but everybody knows how to put it to the side once we walk through the doors of the facility. Everybody has the same goal to be the best possible defense as we can. Sometimes that takes sacrifice and not doing every thing that you're capable of doing, and just doing what the team needs you to do right now. Nobody really complains about it because it works. It's easy to put your ego to the side when it's working. Not just for the overall team, but for the individuals -- it's working. Like I said, the thing I appreciate most about this team is the selflessness -- how there's not any individuals."
The Steelers defense currently ranks #1 in 21 different statistical categories, and either #2 or #3 in seven more!
