Since the 2018 season concluded, there has been nothing but drama and unfortunate speculation surrounding the team. With Antonio Brown appearing to show his true colors as of late, the Steelers are better off without him no matter his skill set. It's apparent how much talent the team's current roster possesses and in the hopes of all the drama being behind the team, the focus can be fully placed on next season.
With players like JuJu Smith-Schuster on the team, it's tough to not feel good heading into the 2019 season. This past week's social media debacle brought forth by Brown should do nothing but motivate JuJu and give him every reason to prove he can continue to be one of the league's top receivers.
Not only was JuJu named to his first Pro Bowl in 2018, but he was amongst the league's top five in receiving yards and tied for sixth amongst all pass-catchers with 111 receptions. It's easy to see where Brown's bitterness toward JuJu sprouted considering Brown has been the team's leader in every receiving category for quite some time now. Unfortunately for Brown, JuJu was incredible last season and proved that Brown was not the only star receiver in Pittsburgh.
Any selfless player would likely be happy to see their teammate succeed and make strides at greatness, but that was not the case between these two. With JuJu keeping things professional on his end, all it has done is make his fans and teammates love him more.
Ben Roethlisberger clearly had an obvious connection with JuJu last season and there is no reason to believe that trust will not continue to grow. It's safe to say the Steelers have a number one receiver and JuJu looks to be very well on his way to greatness if last season was any indication of what to expect in the future.
