As fans patiently wait on the decision on if they'll be able to fill the seats in the stadiums or not this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have given season ticket holders the opportunity to change their minds. Season ticket holders can now have their money refunded, or put the tickets toward the 2021 season.
The Steelers are saying that they're looking over and evaluating each refund application as each one comes in. Some season ticket holders have submitted applications, though it is stated that the team does not have to grant the application. Most submissions will most likely have their applications granted, and that hardly any of the requests have been denied as of right now.
There is no official number reported on how many applications have been submitted, but the team has listed that if you are denied, the original agreement will be honored. The Steelers are just asking fans to contact the ticket office if you are having issues with your submission.
The statement previously made by the team is in full, below:
βWe are continuing to work directly with those season ticket holders on an individual basis who felt they are uniquely affected by the current situation. We established a process to review circumstances to ensure those who have concerns will be handled directly so their season tickets are protected for the 2021 season. We are not canceling those season ticket holders accounts who have been approved through our process. Their tickets are on hold for the 2020 season without penalty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.β
