Ben Roethlisberger was considered to be at high risk for COVID19 due to the fact he sat next to Vance McDonald on their flight back to Pittsburgh from Dallas. McDonald of course tested positive Sunday morning (but the test results didn't come in until Monday).

Roethlisberger ends up on the COVID19 Reserve list on Monday due to his close contact with McDonald.

Roethlisberger was reportedly negative according to a team source on Monday and he appears to be still negative as of Thursday morning. That means Roethlisberger must pass his COVID19 test on Friday and Saturday morning to be reinstated and play on Sunday. It sounds like he's on track to do so.

Offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner spoke to the media on Thursday morning and sounded confident that Roethlisberger can go all week without practicing and play well on Sunday too.

"We'll prepare and continue to prepare as if Ben is playing. As of this point right now, he hasn't missed a rep. He doesn't practice on Wednesday's anyway," Fichtner said.

"There's been various times in his career where he had not practiced all week and played in games and played successful in games."

Everyone remembers the day Landry Jones was injured on the first series of the game against Cleveland. Roethlisberger was supposed to be the emergency quarterback, he came in and lit the Browns up. Here's hoping he can put on a show Sunday at Heinz Field.
