Following the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-16 win over the in-state rival Philadelphia Eagles, there is a lot of buzz surrounding Dwayne Haskins and his performance in the aforementioned game.
Haskins performed admirably throughout his five drives (not counting his end of half kneel down drive) last night against the Eagles, leading the Steelers to four consecutive scoring drives with three ending in touchdowns. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown.
His performance has drawn the attention of SteelerNation and the rest of the NFL media, as many have showed him support for the work he has put in. Haskins' hard work has led to improved play this preseason compared to his first two seasons as a member of the Washington Football Team, but there is something else that helped him Thursday night as well...

A great decision was made by Haskins prior to suiting up Thursday night, as he elected to wear a pair of Steeler color Jordan 1 Retro Travis Scott cleats for the game. Now, if you're a sneakerhead like myself, you understand that his shoe game is elite with a selection like that for game day.
Haskins himself even acknowledged the good performance was aided by his shoe choice. He replied to a tweet from the Steelers official Twitter account with his stat line stating the Travis Scotts did the trick.

For those of you who don't know, the Jordan 1 Retro Travis Scott shoes are one of the most desirable collaboration Jordans right now. Below is a zoomed in picture of Haskins' cleats which feature the iconic backwards Nike swoosh, which is on all of the Jordan 1 Retro Travis Scott shoes regardless of the colorway.
Obviously the very good performance which had several people calling for Haskins to get reps with the first team skill players most likely had very little to do with his shoe choice or rapper Travis Scott. But that performance is bringing joy to all of SteelerNation and the Steelers organization, as Haskins is a very talented player that is benefiting from a better situation.
I can speak for all of SteelerNation by saying we can't wait to see Haskins finally get a chance to show what he can do with the first team offense.
