Dalton Keane, age 27, fell to his death from the top of the escalator at the Pittsburgh Steelers' Acrisure Stadium on October 2, 2022. The medical examiner released the cause of the man's death on Monday. It was ruled an accident, there was no criminal element to the fall.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said Keane died from multiple blunt-force injuries to his head, torso and extremities after falling 40 feet at the Steelers facility.

Keane, a resident of Beaver County, was intoxicated at the time of his fall near Gate C at the stadium. His sister, Savannah, stated that he was at the Steelers game with coworkers, all members of Steamfitters Local 449. He worked as a pipefitter at McCarl's, an industrial piping company in Beaver County.
When Keane fell, paramedics responded quickly and provided medical care at the scene of the accident and then transported him to a nearby hospital where he was in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries that same day.
Keane left behind numerous family and friends including one daughter.
He is remembered for his kindness as well as his dedication to his daughter and his job.
“It’s hard to find people with a good heart,” said Jimmy Harding, a coworker, with Steamfitters Local 449. “That’s a loss … that one — you don’t replace kids with that kind of talent every day,” Harding said.
Harding and his other friends remember him for being cheerful and fun to be around, he loved going to Steelers games with his friends.
“The thing I remember most about Dalton: he was always in a good mood, he was always a happy kid and he enjoyed what he did and going to work,” Harding said.
Ken Burk, the CEO of McCarl’s LLC, agreed, saying:
“We are shocked and saddened to hear about Dalton’s accident on Sunday. He joined McCarl’s in 2014 and was highly regarded by our employees. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,”
