The Pittsburgh Steelers offense is starving for points and one of the biggest reasons is the lack of "splash plays" on that side of the ball. The Steelers failed to score more than 10 points against the Miami Dolphins in last week's loss. The team's offensive coordinator, Matt Canada seems to be skating on thin ice at the moment due to his performance as OC the past two seasons and the lack of production the offense has had in that time frame. Don't worry, though, as we've heard multiple times this season, the black and gold's offense is "close."

“I'll continue to say it and tell it: This is gonna be a tremendous offense,” Canada said via ESPN. “We got great talent. We gotta get balls down the field to ‘em. We gotta block a little better. We gotta get our run game. Our run game efficiency is coming, but it's not enough, right? … We gotta get a few more of those bigger plays. Last week we had a couple, so we're gonna keep working at it. We haven't found it yet. We haven't found the execution.”
The Steelers offense will be going against the league's stingiest passing defense on Sunday afternoon as they travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles defense has given up the least amount of passing yards on the 2022 season with just 1,128 yards in 6 games. Their defense is also giving up the 2nd least amount of passing yards per passing attempt at just 4.9 yards per attempt.
There's a lot on the line on Sunday, but maybe more than just a win or loss on the record. A lot of people believe if the Steelers offense remains stagnant on Sunday, Canada may be out of a job on Monday morning.

With their backs against the wall, do the Steelers and Canada finally let rookie QB1 Kenny Pickett air it out against the Goliath of passing defenses on Sunday? The team's WR1 sure thinks they will!
“We want to go down the field more,” Diontae Johnson said. “I believe that we’re going to go down the field more this week, and hopefully the rest of the season, because we got the guys that can make the plays down the field.”“We just gotta throw it up and give us a chance.”

WR Chase Claypool was candid about the lack of "go" balls called this season after the tough loss to the Dolphins last week and also wants the team to let it fly!
“I just think we need more ‘go’ balls,” Claypool stated after the Miami loss. “We’ve got playmakers that haven't had a go ball all year. George [Pickens] needs more, Diontae needs more. I'm not saying that's on the play-calling, I'm just saying we need to try to find a way to scheme it up.”
Sure, some "go" balls would certainly create some splash, but the offense has to hit on those plays! They have to execute and they're facing a stingy defense to do it against!
Will the Steelers be able to create some "splash" against the Eagles on Sunday? Sound off in the comment section below, or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
