Ben Roethlisberger Believes Steelers' Chris Boswell's Harsh Comments After Week 6 Win Were Directed At Matt Canada

The Pittsburgh Steelers had just defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Heinz Fie -- I mean, Acrisure Stadium. During the post-game celebrations, a live video caught Steelers players walking back to the locker room. Usually there is not a lot to see during these videos. Players are usually yelling and getting hyped after a big win. But this particular video brought up a huge debate amongst Steelers fans.

Steelers' Chris Boswell FG

In the video you can see offensive coordinator Matt Canada come into the video and give a hug to another coach. Shortly after the two coaches start to walk away you can see kicker Chris Boswell enter the video. Boswell appears to yell in Canada's direction as he's walking away.

"It ain't cause of you. I can guarantee you that much," screamed Boswell.

If you remember correctly the Steelers had a mostly putrid day on offense against Tampa. Rookie Kenny Pickett had 67 yards passing in the first half before he was forced to exit in the third quarter because of a possible concussion. From there Mitchell Trubisky would come into the game and eventually lead the Steelers to a touchdown before the Defense ultimately stopped the game tying two-point conversion. From there Trubisky and the Steelers offense would run the clock out by gaining 3 first downs.

In this game in particular the offense had 270 yards total offense, with 144 of those yards coming late in the second half. The win ended a 4-game losing streak in which the offense only managed to score 54 points total in the combined 4 games. It was by this time that EVERYONE was calling for Canada to be fired.

On Monday Ben Roethlisberger released the latest episode of his new podcast Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger. On that episode he was joined by his longtime center and friend Maurkice Pouncey. During their discussion they got on the topic of Boswell, and Pouncey brought up what he believed was Boswell yelling at Trubisky. Roethlisberger wasn't sure exactly what Pouncey was talking about, but quickly figured it out.

"How about him yelling at Trubisky...You didn't score that touchdown... You didn't win the game. You remember that one? I said c'mon Bos," Pouncey recounted.

"Bos said that?," asked Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger then says to Pouncey you know Boswell didn't say that to him [Trubisky].

"You know who he was talking to," Roethlisberger said.

Pouncey would respond with 'Who Matt?'. Everyone on the internet believed for certain that Boswell was yelling directly at Canada. It was the only thing that made sense. But was he serious? Boswell could've continued around the corner and gave Canada a huge hug.

"I don't know," Roethlisberger would eventually respond to Pouncey when asked if it was towards Canada. "I don't know. I can't confirm or deny that," Roethlisberger said with a laugh.

Roethlisberger would again reiterate his stance that he can't deny or confirm that's who Boswell was talking to.

It's impossible to know who Boswell was talking to without him telling, but it's safe to say it was likely directed Canada's way. Roethlisberger didn't come out and admit to it, but you know there are plenty of people in that locker room that Roethlisberger still talks to. It's likely he still has a relationship with Boswell who helped win him many games.

Kudos to Boswell for saying what millions of Steelers fans wish they could.
