The NFL market has been heating up over the last few days and the Pittsburgh Steelers might get involved soon. Former Steelers’ defensive end Arthur Moats was on 93.7 The Fan where Andrew Fillipponi and Chris Mueller had some questions for him. They talked about news in the NFL and some topics relating to the Steelers. Fillipponi had some interesting questions for Moats, where one answer might hint at the Steelers bringing back a former first-round pick.

Fillipponi and Moats start by talking about the recent news in the NFL that came on Tuesday. Moats gives his thoughts on the Baltimore Ravens giving Lamar Jackson the non-exclusive franchise tag and possible teams that Jackson might receive offers from. The New York Giants just beat the buzzer on their four-year deal with quarterback Daniel Jones and their franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley. Moats gives his thoughts on the potential trade between the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He goes on to say that even with Rodgers, he would take the Steelers over the Jets going into next year.
Andrew finishes up his conversation with Moats by giving him some “rapid-fire questions.
"Will this player be on the Steelers’ roster by the end of next week," Andrew asked.
This starts a back-and-forth between Moats and Fillipponi, exchanging some players' names, and Moats' thoughts on him and the Steelers. For the first few names, Moats gives his answer quickly. The last couple of names is where he needed to think for a couple of seconds.
"Cam Sutton? Yes.
Terrell Edmunds? Yes.
Robert Spillane? Yes.
Larry Ogunjobi? [A little hesitant] No."
All of these are reasonable answers. The Steelers desperately need cornerbacks and Sutton has been great for them. Keeping Edmunds and Spillane would be good moves, they both are great for depth and can be reliable starters. Letting Ogunjobi walk could be good for Pittsburgh because he might be seeking some extra money after having a good year in 2022. Filliponni had one more name to ask Moats about, former first-round pick Bud Dupree.

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree (48)
"I'm gonna go on a limb and say yes, I'm putting it out there, we're getting the reunion."
Bud Dupree played his first six years in a Steelers' uniform. The first two years didn't go as planned for Dupree. He only started five games in 2015 and missed over half of the games in 2016 with a groin injury. He also tore his ACL in 2020, missing even more games as the years went on. He hasn't produced for the Tennessee Titans as his contract would suggest. With the Titans releasing multiple players already, it appears that Dupree will be back on the market soon, and the Steelers are interested.

Could Dupree Help The Steelers?
The Steelers had one of the worst pressure rates on their pass rush in the NFL last year. Bringing Dupree back could immediately help to boost the defense in this area. Outside of his groin injury, Dupree played in almost every game in his first five years with Pittsburgh. He was an annual 40-plus tackle and six-plus sack player during his time with the Steelers. He became a fan favorite during his best seasons and could look to find his footing again in Pittsburgh. Injuries hurt him over his two years in Tennessee, a fully healthy Dupree back in the black and gold would be fun to see.
