With the 2023 NFL Draft approaching, the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking at every option to make the team better. This could include adding an inside linebacker in the draft or free agency, as a starter, or for depth in the Steelers' defense. The Steelers have already added Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts, but where else could the Steelers look to add value to this position?

Pittsburgh Steelers sign former Miami Dolphins linebacker Elandon Roberts.
Free Agents: The free agents that are still available to the Steelers at the linebacker position are slim pickings ahead of the draft. Most of the starting ILB's have already been signed by other teams at the beginning of free agency. There are however some good depth players that are still available at the position.
Jayon Brown: Brown is coming off a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders and is still available to be signed by a team. The ILB was named the starter on the Raiders, however, he was placed on injured reserve during the season. The linebacker is productive when on the field with a 105 combined tackle season in 2019. The biggest issue for Brown is his ability to stay on the field, with injuries not letting him complete a full season since the 2020 season, he is a player that could work in a plug-and-play system.
Myles Jack: Jack a familiar name to Steelers fans, was the starting inside linebacker for the team in 2022. The Steelers cut Jack after a 60 solo tackle season, just not having the production hoped for by the team. Still unsigned, he could be an intriguing depth player at only 27 years old, and knowing the Steelers' playbook and organization. Jack could become a safety blanket for the team bringing him back on a cheaper deal.

The 2023 NFL Draft: Who the Steelers are looking for.
Daiyen Henley: Henley is a converted WR now an inside backer from Washington State University. Measuring in at 6'2", 225 lbs., Henley has no issue covering WR's out of the inside backer position. Using his knowledge as a WR, he could add a boost to the Steelers in an area the team desperately needs to improve in, coverage. With the addition of Holcomb and Roberts to assist in stopping the run, there is going to need to be an addition to stopping the pass. This area is where Henley could put in work and earn a starting spot.

Drew Sanders: Sanders is a popular name in the mock draft simulator as a position of need that seems to be available in the second round for Pittsburgh. From Arkansas measuring in at 6'4" and 235 lbs., Sanders is an athletic option at an inside backer role that also can lineup on the outside to rush the passer as well. This makes Sanders an intriguing option as he could add depth to a position that the Steelers are still looking for and could add later in the draft.
