The Steelers' 2024 training camp dates and times have been announced, sparking excitement about another Pickens against Porter showdown. When asked about competing against Pickens in the upcoming camp, Porter hinted that it’s going to get interesting.
“Oh yeah, it is the same. It is the same. We are gunning against each other every day we get a chance to. I am looking forward to training camp. I know it is going to be spicy, so I am ready for it.”
Porter never shies away from trash talk. He is a confident player who has only begun to showcase his potential as a cornerback in the league. As he enters his second year, Porter is eager to take on a leadership role in the cornerback room.
“I am really trying to grow as a leader in my room. We don’t have a lot of old guys that play corner besides [Donte Jackson] and [Cam] Sutton that just came in. Trying to be a mentor to the younger guys and show them how to come in and make plays early.”
The Steelers bolstered their cornerback room by trading star wide receiver Diontae Johnson for veteran cornerback Donte Jackson. Jackson and Porter promise to be an exciting duo.
