The 2025 NFL season will see the Pittsburgh Steelers play in the first-ever regular season game to take part in Ireland. The Acrisure Stadium side will be the designated home team for the fixture, which will take place at Dublin’s Croke Park, which will no doubt be full to bursting point for the match-up.

Last season, Mike Tomlin’s side completed a 10-7 regular season record before bowing out to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. While the long serving head coach has consistently led the team to the postseason, it is now 17 years since he led the team to a Super Bowl title, so no doubt fans of the team will be hoping for a big push from their franchise.
Steelers fans hopeful of that sort of return from the 2025 season can back this hope with a bet, and by using these BetMGM promos, any such wager will be largely risk-free, making any potential winning payout even more attractive.
On the move to further expand the NFL’s footprint across the world, Executive Vice President of International League Events and Club Business Peter O’Reilly commented.
"We are delighted to officially bring a regular-season NFL game to Ireland as part of our 2025 International Games slate."
"Both the NFL and the Steelers franchise have deep roots and history in Ireland, and we're looking forward to making our regular-season debut in Dublin, bringing our game to a large and passionate Irish fan base and underlining the NFL's commitment to global growth."
In 2024, the NFL season saw fixtures take place in England, Germany and Brazil and 2025 will see three games take place in London, one in Berlin, one in Sao Paulo and one in Dublin. In addition to these, Spain will also host a first-ever NFL regular season game, with the Miami Dolphins being the designated team for that clash in Madrid.

2025’s trip to Ireland is only the second time that the Pittsburgh Steelers have been involved in an international series game. The previous occasion came in 2013 when they lost 27-34 to the Minnesota Vikings in front of over 80,000 fans at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London.
In 1997, the Steelers did take part in a preseason game in Ireland, with Pittsburgh facing the Chicago Bears as part of the American Bowl Series. On that occasion, they won 30-17 and went on to reach the AFC Championship game.
The prospect of a return to the Irish capital has been welcomed by Steelers President Art Rooney II.
"We are very excited to be the designated team in the first regular-season game to be played in Ireland this upcoming season."
"The opportunity for the Pittsburgh Steelers to play in Ireland is truly special, not only because of the Rooney family history there, but also to play in front of the growing number of Steelers fans in Ireland. We are thrilled to be part of this historic event to represent Pittsburgh in a game that brings the NFL to the great sports fans in Ireland."
The NFL has already made plans for the 2026 season, which will see the first-ever regular season game take place in Australia, with the enormous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) set to host the Los Angeles Rams. The MCG has a capacity of over 100,000, and you can count on the stadium being sold out; such is the allure of the NFL worldwide.
