Cam Heyward: “You Gotta Roll With It”

By: Brandon J. Wallace

With the spinning carousel that has been the Pittsburgh Steelers 2020 NFL schedule, Steelers defensive captain, Cam Heyward took to the media over the weekend and expressed how every team is going through something similar. “Maybe not to this extent” Heyward explained, but there are a number of teams who are facing related challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When asked about not being able to have a few key members of the defensive line tomorrow night who were recently put on the COVID-19 Reserve List, Heyward expressed his optimism:

“It’s obviously going to be tough to replace a guy like [Stephon] Tuitt and a guy like [Isaiah] Buggs, but we have to be ready for these situations. We knew it wasn’t going to be perfect throughout the whole year.” Heyward continued. “For us, we have to step up. I have to step up, Tyson [Alualu] has to step up, [Chris] Wormley, Henry [Mondeaux], and Carlos [Davis] as well. I’m looking for the guys to rally around each other and plugin as a unit.”

With the Ravens currently having over 20 players on their COVID-19 Reserve List including former NFL MVP, Lamar Jackson, Heyward says he and the Steelers are preparing to be “ready for anything.”

“We don’t care where we play, we don’t care how it’s played, we just want to play.”

More to come.
