REPORT: Steelers Signing WR Mathew Sexton After Michigan State Pro Day

After an impressive Pro Day at Michigan State last week, NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero has reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former Eastern Michigan wide receiver, Mathew Sexton.

In four years at Eastern Michigan, Sexton had 100 receptions for 1,135 yards and nine touchdowns.

“With the cancellation of the majority of pro days in 2020, players who are not currently under contract by an NFL team and would have participated last year have been allowed to return in order to showcase their skills.” –

This signing comes just days after the Steelers also signed Tyler Simmons to add to the wide receiver room. Camp bodies, or potential special teams/return men for Pittsburgh? Let us know what yinz think of these new additions in the comment section below!

I’m a Steelers fan first, and a human being second. I BLEED black and gold! I love everything Steeler Nation and I’ve been with this staff since February 2018. I now reside in sunny San Diego, CA, but that doesn’t stop me from going to at LEAST 3-4 Steeler games a season. I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2010, and if I’m not watching a Steelers game, you can catch me at the beach, stuffing my face with Golden Oreos, or in front of anything Marvel.
