Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator, Randy Fichtner had his work cut out for him last season with all of the injuries plaguing the Steelers offense. As the season draws closer, it appears everyone is back to or near full health, mainly quarterback Ben Roehtlisberger -- in addition to some new additions to the team that are looking to make an impact early. Rookie wide receiver, Chase Claypool has stood out for all the right reasons so far and Fichtner has taken notice.
OC Randy Fichtner on Chase Claypool: He hasn't missed a snap...he's in great physical condition...he's intelligent....and that relationship between Chase and Ben is starting to really grow.
Randy added Claypool is following the "work, work, work, and shut-up" plan.β Missi Matthews (@missi_matthews) August 27, 2020
As Fichtner stated, Roethlisberger and Claypool are already showing signs of a solid connection and Claypool's size is comparable to the likes of Julio Jones which can only benefit the Steelers offense further. Roethlisberger has been impressed by Claypool's decision making and early signs of growth.
'He's just making plays. The plays he is making are impressive. To me what is more impressive is he doesn't ask questions, which means he knows his stuff. He is not making the same mistake twice.' - @_BigBen7 on @ChaseClaypool

The Steelers offense is poised to get back on track with their 2108 form with the return of JuJu Smith-Schuster, promising standout Diontae Johnson, and the addition of tight end Eric Ebron providing massive potential. Claypool's presence at the line will be impossible for defenders to ignore, it will be a matter of what he does with his opportunities.
More to come.
