On Monday Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin announced that linebacker Ryan Shazier had left the team.

It had been believed that Shazier had been absent from Heinz Field due to COVID-19, but Tomlin said that wasn’t the case.

“Ryan is not missing because of COVID, Ryan is focused on some transitional things in his life and that’s where his focus is right now and he has my and our full support,” said Tomlin.

Shazier has came a long way, and continues to impress as seen on his Instagram page.

This isn’t necessarily the end of Shazier with the Steelers, though.

“I hope that he is going to have some time for us in the future but as he lays the foundation for the rest of his life man, that’s where he’s focusing his energies,” said Tomlin.

Shazier has been a coach, and an inspiration to the team since his injury. Hopefully Shaziers life goals will lead him back to the team in the near future.

The Steelers have always been a central part of my life. I grew up listening to WDVE tapes recorded off of the radio of Steelers fight songs, and wearing Steelers jerseys as a fashion statement. I joined the message board when I was 12, and this site has been a big part of my life ever since. I’ve found life long friends and met some of the best people on earth through this site. In 2015, I was able to help revive the site and develop a news website and all of our social media platforms. I can’t wait to continue to grow with all of you. Go Steelers!
