Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Optimistic About Players Returning from Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers are enjoying their long week of rest since their Thursday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings as they prepare to take on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Heinz Field. Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin took to the podium again for his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon, and indicated how there's already been a "decent amount of energy" at the facility this week.

Tomlin opened up his press conference mentioning how exciting it is to potentially get some guys back from injury. These players included were DL Carlos Davis, DL Isaiah Buggs, LB TJ Watt, LB Alex Highsmith, OL Joe Haeg, OL J.C. Hassenauer, and CB Joe Haden. As always, practice participation this week and the display of readiness will be the coaching staff's guide as far as who suits up come Sunday.

As for the Titans, Coach Tomlin highlighted QB Ryan Tannehill's ability to not just be an efficient passer, but his effectiveness scrambling with the football as well. Even with the loss of All-Pro RB Derrick Henry, the Titans also still possess a potent running attack; a department on defense the Steelers have severely struggled in the last few weeks. Coach Tomlin also recognized S Kevin Byard as an exceptional talent, and a player the Steelers need to keep an eye out for.

Before Tomlin wrapped things up, of course he was asked about the Chase Claypool first down celebration at the end of the Vikings game on Thursday, which Tomlin responded:
