Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers continued to redefine the word "stability" as they extended head coach Mike Tomlin's current contract with the team. The Steelers will now keep the coach at least through the 2021 season.

"Mike is one of the most successful head coaches in the National Football League, and we are confident in his leadership to continue to lead our team as we pursue our goal of winning another championship." - Steelers President, Art Rooney II

Tomlin (47) will enter his 13th season with the organization as head coach, and is only the third coach Pittsburgh has had since 1969 (Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher are the others).

"I am very appreciative of this contract extension and opportunity and want to thank Art Rooney II and everyone in the organization for the support in my first 12 seasons." - Mike Tomlin
