Stephon Tuitt’s Brother Killed in a Hit and Run Accident

Richard Bartlett III was killed by a hit and run driver on a highly traveled portion of McGinnis Ferry Road in Johns Creek, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta at 9:30pm last night.  Bartlett is the 23 year old brother of Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end, Stephon Tuitt.

According to the police records, Bartlett was in his car following his girlfriend home, who was transporting a mattress on the top of her car.  They stopped, possibly to secure the mattress, and that is when Bartlett was struck by an oncoming car.  The car paused for a moment and then drove off.  Police are looking for a dark colored 4 door sedan, that may be a BMW.

According to the New York Post article by Amanda Woods, their mother, Tamara Tuitt-Bartlett works in the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy.

This is a sad day for Steeler Nation as our thoughts and prayers go out to the Tuitt and Bartlett families.
