The Pittsburgh Steelers are finally AFC North champions after winning a game that was truly a tale of two halves. This week the 3rd seed Steelers are essentially playing for nothing as the 2nd seed no longer receives a first round bye. On the flip side of things, their opponent the Cleveland Browns are in a win-and-in situation fighting for the playoffs.
Head coach Mike Tomlin opened his weekly press conference talking about last week's game saying it was, "far from perfect." Describing that the game had its usual "warts" but he liked the fight in the team. He singled out Vince Williams efforts on defense and how his football IQ and ability to play 100% of the defensive snaps allowed them to combat Philip Rivers. Before discussing the Browns, he got into who will be rested this week since only one team gets a bye week. Ben Roethlisberger was the only player named by Tomlin who will be rested, the rest of the players will be determined later in the week depending on the current injury circumstances. Some players may be rested on a rotational basis since some position groups have been more impacted than others.
When discussing the Browns, he mirrored his comments from the previous matchup. He brought up both running backs, mainly Nick Chubb will be available for this game. Stressed the importance of limiting their four man front defensively but said there are no secrets with the familiarity they have.
