Coach Mike Tomlin just mentioned in his press conference that Chris Wormley is returning to practice this week. Wormley was placed on Injured Reserve 3 weeks ago with a knee injury, which made this the earliest he could return. By rule, the Steelers have 3 additional weeks to decide to place him back on the roster. If he is not rostered within these next 3 weeks, he will be placed on season ending IR.
Wormley has played 51 snaps on offense and 3 on special teams in his first 7 games. He will be returning to provide depth to a defensive line that has shown surprising young depth with Isaiah Buggs, Henry Mondeaux, and Carlos Davis getting valuable playing time lately.
Mike Hilton is also supposed to be returning to practice fully this week. Jaylen Samuels (Quad) and Trey Edmunds (Hamstring) were banged up this past game and we'll see how they are worked back into practice this week.
