The Coronavirus pandemic is still leaving the NFL 2020 season looking a bit uncertain, but with team schedules back on track, officials are looking at what the possibilities of 'social distancing' games may look like.

Social distancing will probably impact the whole season for all teams, but Burt Lauten, the Pittsburgh Steelers director of communications says the team will only be selling 50% of their tickets for the 2020 season.

The Steelers are notoriously known for being a home game team with head coach, Mike Tomlin. Since 2014 they've won 34 games at home and only lost 14 at Heinz Field. But the atmosphere at Heinz Field may not be as loud as it usually is.

In a released statement, the Steelers said the following, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor:

“We are holding back 50% of the individual game ticket sales inventory because we are preparing for possible social distancing scenarios this year at Heinz Field.”

As of last week, there have been no restrictions put in place by the NFL on the number of tickets that the teams are allowed to sell. But, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told all of the organizations that each team will have to reimburse fans who bought tickets if they're unable to actually make it inside of the stadium because of the pandemic.

“All clubs will have in place a policy under which, if a game is cancelled, or is played under conditions that prohibit fans from attending, anyone purchasing a ticket directly from the club (i.e., season tickets, group sales and/or partial season plans) will have the option of either receiving a full refund or applying the amount paid toward a future ticket purchase directly from the club," Roger Goodell said.

Until it gets closer to game time, things may be different. But for now, the NFL is allowing teams to actually sell tickets according to what their individual plans are.

Social distancing restrictions don't have a real date of being lifted, but if they are lifted, the organization could have to sell more tickets for the games than anticipated.

It'll be interesting to see the Steelers play with limited fans in the stadium because Pittsburgh always feeds off of the crowds.

What do you think, Steeler Nation? Do you think the limited fans will have an effect on the home-game record? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
