Pittsburgh Steelers' former team MVP, JuJu Smith-Schuster is set to become a free agent this offseason. Given the team's current cap situation and the assumed asking price, it seems likely the receiver will hit the market.
And he's already drawing interest from other teams.
The Las Vegas Raiders are said to be "very interested" in the 24-year-old wideout, replacing Nelson Agholor in the slot. This news, shared by John Clayton on 93.7 The Fan, is not shocking to anyone in Pittsburgh. Smith-Schuster quietly had a solid season, functioning as one of the Steelers' most consistent and reliable receivers. He had 831 yards on 97 receptions for 9 touchdowns and was targeted by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger 128 times - only Diontae Johnson saw the ball come his way more.
Roethlisberger has made it clear he wants the Steelers to do what it takes to keep Smith-Schuster around, but the jury's still out on whether or not Roethlisberger will return in the 2021 season. Regardless, he's not the only one who wants Smith-Schuster back; fans adore him and are hopeful that somehow, someway, he hasn't seen his last snap in the black and gold.
