On Sunday, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay will have one last crack at making NFL history. He will attempt to break Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin's record for youngest coach to ever win a Super Bowl.
McVay had a chance three years ago to obliterate Tomlin's record, but was unable to beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LVIII. Now, McVay is within months of Tomlin's age and will be older than Tomlin was by next year.

McVay just turned 36 on Jan 24th, and Tomlin won Super Bowl XLIII right before he turned 37 to set the record. The previous record was held by Jon Gruden, who was 39 when he won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For McVay to be able to clinch that record, he will have to beat his former assistant Zac Taylor who is in his third year as the Cincinnati Bengals head coach. Taylor spent only two years with McVay in Los Angeles, but quickly became a hot name due to the success of other former staff members of McVay. Everyone was looking for that next young stud head coach. The Bengals took a chance hiring Taylor who had never been a head coach in any capacity and only served as an assistant or position coach in the NFL.
The gamble has worked out for Cincinnati. You could also say it worked out for Taylor who immediately was paired with quarterback Joe Burrow.
