With peek NFL Mock Draft season upon us, it is time to get down to the nitty-gritty of what the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to do in 2023. Many fans suggest the offensive line is a must with the first pick, while some think they can find value with pick 32 at that position. Some would like to pair draft prospect Jordan Addison with his former quarterback Kenny Pickett. No matter what happens, Steelers fans are in for a treat this offseason.

Steelers To Add Depth
The core of the offense is established now with Pickett looking to be the future. Now it is time for the Steelers to add depth to a much-needed position on their offense. That position is the offensive line. They tried to make some improvements in 2022 with James Daniels and Mason Cole, but it still looks like there is room for improvement rather than from the free agency of this year's draft. ESPN recently discussed this issue.
"Where they are lacking, and have been for a while now, it's on the offensive line. A boost of elite talent upfront could reposition the team near the top of the AFC once again. The Steelers aren't in great position to sign free agents, however, given their usual spot right up against the cap."

The big reason why Pittsburgh has a chance to draft an offensive lineman high in the draft is that we traded Chase Claypool into what would become pick 32 in the draft. But in ESPN's recent article, they suggest that it could be a bold move for the Steelers to possibly use that pick and trade up in the draft to get their guy on the offensive line. That player could be, Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, Georgia's Broderick Jones, Ohio State's Paris Johnson Jr or a possible curveball. ESPN commented on the possibility of this.
"This season there are several good, but not necessarily automatic, prospects upfront. That could be a blessing, however, as the Steelers won't have to move up far to get."

Another position that has been thrown around by the fan base is looking at the cornerback spot. The last cornerback taken in the first round by the Steelers was Artie Burns in 2016 and I think everyone remembers how that turned out. But with new management in Omar Khan, they may hope to right the ship this offseason and could bring someone in via the draft. This could be done as well with the 32nd pick and potentially moving it. But with a deep cornerback class, I see them being more conservative and sticking with what they have as picks.
The article by ESPN mentions the name Tyree Wilson as well from Texas Tech. A guy that I think has the potential to be a top 10, maybe even top 5 pick in this year's draft. But if the price is right and Pittsburgh likes what they see, maybe we see him in black and yellow.
