Former Pittsburgh Steelers legendary running back, Franco Harris is being honored once again. This time, he's having a street named after him back in his hometown of Mount Holly, New Jersey. Harris passed away back in December, which happened to be just ahead of a huge honorary moment. The Steelers were set to face the Las Vegas Raiders at Acrisure Stadium. Quarterback Kenny Pickett helped make the game quite memorable, leading the team on a game-winning drive in the closing seconds.

It was the 50-year anniversary of Harris' Immaculate Reception, arguably the most historic play in NFL history. Unfortunately, Harris wasn't able to be present for the ceremony, having passed away just days before. The legend of his name lives on though, and this is just another way that he will be honored. He was 72 years old at the time of his passing.

Harris remains a true icon in the city of Pittsburgh for his play on the field, as well as his work off of it. Pittsburgh International Airport features a statue of Harris' legendary play 50 years ago, a reminder for guests coming through the city. Franco's son, Dok, was the one to unveil the new street 'Franco Harris Way.' On the sign next to the street name, there's even a little No. 32 jersey. Katherine Scott of WPVI covered the unveiling, including Dok commenting on his late father's legacy.

"It's quite nice, it's a great honor. I think he'll look down and really appreciate this," Dok said in regards to the new street name honoring his father.

Scott gathered thoughts and quotes from the Harris family, including his other siblings and his wife, Dana. It's more than just a street in Harris' hometown of Mount Holly. It's the street that he grew up on, where his football journey began. Mount Holly's mayor, Chris Banks, described Harris as the town's "favorite son." Just another prestigious honor for one of the greatest humans that has lived.
