The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely face an uphill battle if the team wants to win the AFC North in 2023, as the division is widely recognized as one of the most competitive in the NFL. Both the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns should improve their win total from 2022 and the Cincinnati Bengals are poised to make a return to the AFC Championship Game for the third consecutive season. All things considered, the Steelers will need to see a dramatic increase in production on the offensive side of the ball and remain healthy with their defensive unit to win their first division title since 2020.

If the Steelers fail to win the AFC North in 2023, it will not be from a lack of effort from the team's General Manager, Omar Khan. In addition to an impressive collection of rookies added during the 2023 NFL Draft, players such as Patrick Peterson, Isaac Seumalo, Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts have been signed via free agency to help fill positions of need. Allen Robinson, another veteran player who joined the Steelers this offseason, will also serve as integral part of helping improve the team's offense in 2023.

The nine-year pro had an underwhelming campaign in 2022 with the Los Angeles Rams, but has a tremendous opportunity to revive his career in Pittsburgh. During a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Robinson shared his optimism and explained why he believes the Steelers are well equipped to surprise people and compete for a division title this upcoming season.

"You can already kind of see the grit of the group starting to form. When you have a coach like Coach Tomlin, it's the reason why he's had success. He knows how to get guys to rally around each other, he knows how to get guys to buy into each other. We have something special forming, you can tell already," said Robinson.

Robinson May Prove To Be A Critical Piece Of The Steelers' Passing Attack In 2023

Prior to the start of the free agency period in 2023, the Steelers already knew they had a formidable top duo of wide receivers in Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. Apart from them, there were serious questions as to who would emerge as the third option. The acquisition of Robinson from the Rams not only solved this problem, but also provided the Steelers with a much needed veteran presence in the positional room.

Steelers WR, Allen Robinson Will Have A Chance To Revive His Career In 2023

While his experience will certainly be an asset, Robinson still feels as if he has plenty of gas left in the tank in terms of his NFL career. During the same interview, he explained why he is still confident in his ability to be an elite-level playmaker going forward.

"I think I have a lot more. I've learned to be able to improve in the areas I need to. I take my workouts, training, practices, I take everything like that serious. For me, it's all football. It's always how can I continue to improve myself and be the best version of myself. It's just about me versus me," answered Robinson.

While Robinson's exact role has yet to be determined, it's possible that he plays a multitude of positions for the team in 2023. During his nine-year career, he has proven to be effective in playing both outside the numbers as well as in the slot. With Johnson and Pickens likely occupying the outside spots, Robinson's best chance of seeing the field may come playing inside, a position in which the Steelers have had very little production from in 2022.

The Steelers will undoubtedly see a better version of Kenny Pickett in 2023, as the sophomore signal-caller has had the entire offseason as the unquestioned starter. An improved offensive line will also help the cause, as the team will look to avoid a slow start from an offensive standpoint next season. The Bengals are favored to still wear the crown with the most talented offensive unit in the division, but it may not be long until Pickett and company provide them with some serious competition. The regular season will be here before we know it, Steeler Nation!
