The Pittsburgh Steelers have a litany of concerns throughout their roster. The offensive line is banged up thanks to a few injuries, and the team has already gone and found outside help. Cornerback is also a position where the Steelers are having some depth issues due to injury. A position group that isn't necessarily injured, but is weak, is wide receiver. It seems as though George Pickens is the only truly reliable player in the wide receiver room, and Pittsburgh may need some help there in order to improve the offense.

Other players have made an impact at wide receiver as well, just not consistently. The biggest impact has come from Calvin Austin III, while both Scotty Miller and Van Jefferson have contributed some. It was obvious going into the regular season that wide receiver was a big question mark outside of Pickens. Pittsburgh is looking to add to the room, as they are working out former second-round pick, Andy Isabella.
Steelers are working out WR Andy Isabella, former second-round pick of Arizona Cardinals, per source. He was with Buffalo last year.

Isabella was the 62nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he was selected by the Arizona Cardinals. He struggled to find his footing in the league, as his best season came in his second year where he recorded just 21 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns. He hasn't had more than 10 receptions in any other season in his career.

In addition to the Cardinals, Isabella has also suited up for the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens. Isabella only played in two games with both teams and didn't haul in any passes. He hasn't caught a pass in a game since the 2022 season. Isabella is an interesting guy to take a look at, but he is a lot like the receivers that are already on the roster. His play is similar to Miller's and Austin's, who both utilize their speed to beat the defense deep. It's odd to see the Steelers take an interest in Isabella.
Steelers Could Be Interested In Isabella For A Different Reason
In addition to being a receiver, Isabella has also been utilized as a kick returner. This is something the Steelers could utilize after Cordarrelle Patterson left the game on Sunday with an injury. Jaylen Warren is also expected to miss some time, so Pittsburgh may want to save Patterson for the offense rather than using him in special teams.

The exact reasoning for the interest in Isabella is unclear, but it will be interesting to see if the Steelers decide to sign the receiver. If they do, he will likely start out on the practice squad.
