PITTSBURGH, PA –  Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is celebrating this week’s Pittsburgh victory with the release of a new sandwich – The DangeRuss Sandwich – which will be available at all Primanti Bros. locations beginning today. The sandwich is an homage to The Dangerwich – a short-lived promotion launched in Denver as Russell Wilson helmed the team there.

The Tennessee Titans will get to enjoy sandwiches like this one courtesy of Primanti Bros. after they knocked off the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18 of 2023.

The DangeRuss – pepperoni, salami, ham and bacon, topped with Provolone cheese, signature fresh-cut fries, coleslaw, and tomato – will also benefit the UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation – with $1 being donated with each sold – for as long as Russell Wilson remains Pittsburgh’s quarterback.

“We figured that if Russ was going to cook on Sunday – we should cook this week,” said Jim Prezioso, Primanti Bros. “He’s already looking better than when he was in Denver – and we think our version of his classic sandwich is a little better, too – and with fries and slaw, certainly a whole lot more Pittsburgh.”

The sandwich will be available for dine-in or online orders.

“A big win changes the entire cities attitude on a Monday,” said Prezioso. “And we think this sandwich might just help carry us through the weekend.”

Primanti Bros. has recently upgraded its gameday experience with the addition of NFL Sunday Ticket – great drink deals including $3.99 23oz. beers, $2.99 celebratory Fireball shots and a new gameday food menu.

“The DangeRuss Sandwich is the latest addition to our gameday menu,” said Prezioso. “But we’re most excited about the opportunity to raise funds for the UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Russ has always supported children’s hospitals wherever he’s played – and we honored to continue to bring attention to the great work of our local team of doctors, nurses and support staff that care for Pittsburgh’s youngest fans.”

The DangeRuss sandwich will be available for a limited time – so check with Primanti Bros. on social media for the latest updates.

About Primanti Bros. Restaurant & Bar

In 1933, Joe Primanti opened a lunch cart in Pittsburgh's Strip District selling sandwiches to the hungry truckers who were coming and going at all times of the night. Encouraged by sales and positive feedback, Joe expanded to a small storefront where he was joined by his brothers Dick and Stanley and their nephew John DePriter. And that's how the very first Primanti Bros. location was born all dedicated to that early notion that folks deserve great food, with no pretense, for a good price
