The Pittsburgh Steelers have a ton of questions surrounding the offense heading into the 2025 NFL season. Many fans are wondering whether or not the team's brass is satisfied with what the wide receiver group looks like, while the quarterback position is still up in the air. Many are pushing for Pittsburgh to sign another veteran free agent at receiver, while there also might be some interesting names available on the trade market. At quarterback, the organization is banking on Aaron Rodgers eventually signing. Meanwhile, the offensive line is an issue that hasn't been discussed much.

Pittsburgh's offensive line isn't definitively good, but it is not definitively bad either. They are more of an unknown due to the lack of experience among the group. The two tackle positions are going to be what makes the offense successful, or struggle tremendously. 2023 first-round pick Broderick Jones finally gets to move back to his natural position at left tackle, while fans will get to see 2024 first-round selection Troy Fautanu take the field at right tackle for longer than just one game.
Jones spoke to the media after Organized Team Activities on Wednesday, and he shared a promising update on Fautanu.
"Troy's good," Jones said. "They tried not to push him too much because he's still trying to work his way back, but Troy's looking amazing."
This is good to hear from Jones, as the tackle is actually the one who broke the news about Fautanu's knee injury back at the beginning of the 2024 season. Fautanu had started one game for Pittsburgh against the Denver Broncos, but he was hurt the following week in practice and missed the remainder of the regular season. There was some speculation about whether or not he would be able to play had Pittsburgh gone on a deep playoff run, but that never came to fruition.

Steelers offensive tackle Troy Fautanu runs through drills as the team practices during 2024 training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
Fautanu struggled with injuries after being drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round. He had a knee injury during training camp, and he then suffered another knee injury after playing against Denver. This forced Pittsburgh to continue to start Jones at right tackle, which was not his natural position. Now that Dan Moore Jr. is off the team via free agency, Jones can move to left tackle and attempt to prove he was worth the 14th overall selection in 2023, while Fautanu can get his footing in the NFL on the right side of the line.
The interior part of Pittsburgh's offensive line is fairly solid, but it is young. Center Zach Frazier and right guard Mason McCormick are both entering their second seasons in the league, while left guard Isaac Seumalo is a seasoned veteran. Frazier clearly has All-Pro potential, while McCormick still has some room to grow. Outside of the tackle spots, right guard is Pittsburgh's biggest spot to worry about on the offensive line.
Steelers' Broderick Jones Must Prove Himself During The 2025 NFL Season
The start to Jones' NFL career has not been all that great, but the coaching staff has not done him any favors either the way he has been played out of position. He played left tackle in college, but was forced to play on the right side during his rookie season. In 2024, he was working throughout the offseason on both sides, and the same goes for training camp. That is no way to perfect a craft, which he has been doing in 2025 now that he only has to worry about the left side.

Jones is entering his third season, and as a first-round pick, that year is very important. The franchise will be deciding on his fifth-year option during the 2026 offseason, so it is critical that the young lineman can figure it out at left tackle.
