The Pittsburgh Steelers have been incredibly focused on beefing up the trenches in recent years. Both Omar Khan and Andy Weidl have a clear vision for what kind of team they want to put out on the field. There have been plenty of investments on the offensive and defensive lines, so fans are expecting the units to dominate the line of scrimmage. One of the more promising players of the bunch is second-year center Zach Frazier. Selected in round two of the 2024 NFL Draft, the organization has extremely high hopes that Frazier can be a staple on the offensive line for years.

Unfortunately for the Steelers, Frazier's 2025 training camp hasn't gotten off to the best start. He has reportedly had some issues snapping the ball, and he even was yanked from the team's "Seven Shots" drill on Saturday because of a bad snap. This will cause plenty of issues in any offense, but Pittsburgh has to limit all mistakes if it wants to turn the page with Aaron Rodgers under center.
This won't be a permanent benching, nor should it, as Frazier is one of the most talented young lineman in the entire NFL. Snapping issues cannot, and will not, be tolerated in the Steel City, however. Speaking with Joe Rutter of TribLive, the center owned up to his mistakes and understands that it needs to be fixed very quickly.
“Just can’t do it,” Frazier said. “The rest were fine. That’s two days in a row. I’ll get it fixed. You can’t have it, obviously. It’s not something I normally have a problem with. It will be fixed.”
One could point to the change at quarterback as a potential reason why Frazier is having some trouble, but he has worked with different signal-callers throughout his football life. He did mention that it is a little bit of a mix-up with Rodgers calling the shots.
“It’s different,” Frazier said. “Just the past couple days is really the first work we’ve gotten with him.”
Frazier is a professional and one of the best centers in the NFL, even though he has only played for one full year. The last thing the Steelers need is an issue at the position entering the 2025 campaign, so the hope is that Frazier can get past this and not have any issues as the regular season inches closer. It will begin to seriously worry the fan base if the problems persist.

One of the most important positions in all of football is center. Aside from quarterback, it could be argued that it is the other main need for an offense. Frazier led many to believe back in 2024 that he will be the Steelers' starting center for the next decade, so the issues with low snaps have to be looked at as a bit concerning, considering the team isn't planning on investing in the position anytime soon.
Rodgers is a four-time MVP and has received the ball from many different centers throughout his career, so he will be an essential piece to the puzzle. Pittsburgh needs to hope that the veteran works with Frazier on the side to resolve any potential issues that are ongoing. The Steelers will want to see that leadership from the former Super Bowl champion, and it will be a great learning experience for Frazier.

Steelers Hoping Frazier Can Become An All-Pro
The history in Pittsburgh at the center position is quite astounding. Frazier seems to be another stud in the making, but snap issues in his second professional offseason have to be quickly sorted out. He has the talent and instincts to be added to the list of Steelers' centers that earned All-Pro honors. The goal is for him to make that leap in year two, so this process needs to be taken care of quickly.
