The Pittsburgh Steelers and the rest of the NFL are approaching the league's trade deadline on November 4th, so teams around the league are looking to add to their rosters. Organizations will look to add valuable depth while also looking to fill holes in the lineup, and one of those holes for Pittsburgh comes at wide receiver. The Steelers have been rumored to be in on some wide receiver targets around the NFL, but the franchise could also look at some veteran free agent options.

The Steelers need help at wide receiver, and adding another veteran presence to the room could be useful. The franchise is reportedly bringing in wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling for a workout on Monday, which could lead to a signing. This was reported by NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

This would be an interesting move for Pittsburgh, as Valdez-Scantling and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have plenty of experience playing together from their time with the Green Bay Packers. It would be a reunion between the quarterback and the wide receiver, which could help the Steelers as the 2025 season continues on.

Rodgers and Valdez-Scantling player together in Green Bay for four seasons, and the two were able to put together some good production over that time considering Valdez-Scantling was not the top target in the offense. The receiver has caught 123 balls from Rodgers for over 2,100 yards and 13 touchdowns. The two had a pretty decent connection during their time together, and maybe that is something that can continue in Pittsburgh during the 2025 season.

Valdez-Scantling probably would not play a large role in Pittsburgh's offense, but he provides another target that Rodgers has trust in. That can be valuable for depth purposes, especially with how slim the top of the wide receiver room is for the Steelers.

Steelers Could Likely Benefit From Rodgers Having A Familiar Face Around

Rodgers has played well so far in 2025, but bringing in another one of his top targets from his career could be beneficial for the organization. Pittsburgh could make a signing as early as Monday, so it is something to watch as time goes on. The Steelers could also remain active on the trade market as the franchise continues to search for help at wide receiver. Either way, the fan base wants to see some moves made.

What would you think of the Steelers signing Valdez-Scantling? Would he be a beneficial addition to the roster? Let us know in the comments below!
