The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a brutal loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday as the team fell by a score of 26-7. It was a frustrating contest to watch, and it was certainly a tough game to play in as plenty of players on the Steelers were seen losing their cools in between plays. Multiple individuals on the Steelers were flagged for 15-yard penalties due to actions that went on after the whistle, and tensions rose as the showdown went on and the game got out of hand. The Steelers were dominated by the Bills, and the players were out of answers on the field.

Something that was seen during the loss to the Bills that is a rarity was defensive captain Cam Heyward getting frustrated and shoving opposing players after plays. This started early in the game after a run by Bills quarterback Josh Allen, and he and the signal-caller were jawing back and forth.
This was also seen later in the game as well, but it all seemed to stem from the same incident earlier in the contest. Heyward was asked about this instance during his media availability after the loss, and he was transparent about what went down.
"Being kneed in my stomach? Just jawing back and forth, you know, ticked off the entire game because as a quarterback they're protected but I'm not." Heyward said. "It just pisses me off."
Heyward stated that he was kneed in the stomach after Allen ran the ball earlier in the game, which is when it was first seen on the broadcast that the two were going at each other. His frustration seemed to stem from the fact that if that same thing happened to a quarterback a flag would probably be thrown, but defensive lineman are not protected in the same way.

Heyward was clearly still mad about the incident while he was talking with the media after the game, and the result of the game probably played into that as well. The media continued to ask questions about the incident for clarification, and Heyward had no issues answering them. The captain was asked if he was saying that Allen was the one who kneed him, and if the quarterback did it on purpose.
"Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying." Heyward said. "Yes. He even said after, 'You know I had to do something to get you off of me.'"
Heyward was adamant that Allen was the player that kneed him, and he even stated that the quarterback admitted to doing it. The incident occurred on Buffalo's final drive of the first half at the end of a three-yard run by Allen, where Heyward was apart of the group that brought him to the ground.

There is a good amount of proof that what Heyward stated is what happened. This would explain the outbursts from Heyward, which aren't a commonality from the veteran defender. He is usually level-headed, but that was not the case on Sunday, and that is completely understandable.

Steelers Allowed Frustration To Boil Over Throughout Remainder Of The Bills Contest
Pittsburgh had five penalties for 67 yards during the game, and one of those came on DK Metcalf after getting into it with a defender following Pittsburgh's lone touchdown.
Another penalty was called on Heyward later in the game after the Bills scored as he got into Allen's face and was jawing back and forth with the quarterback right after he had thrown a touchdown. Tensions were rising for the Steelers throughout the game, and that was clear from the amount of penalties that were called on the players after the whistle.
