Marlon Humphrey Gets Brutally Honest About The Ravens' Relationship With The Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for a big clash with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18. The game is going to decide the AFC North, and the winner of the game will move onto the postseason while the loser will see its season come to a close. Both teams expect to be in the playoffs nearly every season, so the loser of this game will be facing the harsh realities of a very disappointing year. The Steelers have the pleasure of hosting this matchup, and a win would allow the franchise to host its first playoff game since the 2020 season.

The Ravens typically have one of the most loaded rosters in the league, and a lot of that has to do with quarterback Lamar Jackson. It has been a down year for the team and for Jackson, but Baltimore has been able to bounce back and handle pretty much any team in the league over the years. However, Pittsburgh has remained a pain for Baltimore. No matter how good the Ravens are, and no matter what changes the Steelers are going through, Pittsburgh also seems to have a chance to take down the Ravens. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey acknowledged that while talking with the media, as he shared that the Steelers have been like kryptonite for the Ravens.

"I think the Steelers, you know, in the past, they've kind of been like a knife in our side," Humphrey said. "Especially for him [Jackson]. I think he'll be more than ready to go if he is out there on Sunday."

Jackson's status for the game on Sunday has been up in the air all week, but it was announced on Thursday that the quarterback would be playing. His teammate acknowledged that the Steelers have been a tough matchup for the Ravens in the past, while also stating that his quarterback has especially struggled while playing the Steelers.

There has been a narrative surrounding Jackson that he has not been fully "bought in" throughout the 2025 season, and Humphrey was putting that notion to bed by stating that the quarterback will be ready and motivated for this matchup. That is why he brought up the quarterback's struggles against Pittsburgh, which means the shortcomings against the Steelers are something that motivates the two-time league MVP. Jackson will also have the stakes of this game motivating him as the playoffs are on the line, which Humphrey described as the ideal scenario.

"This is just honestly like a dream," Humphrey said. "A dream scenario to be able to play your rival in their stadium. Teams don't like each other too much. The two head coaches been there a while. Aaron Rodgers a great quarterback. Lamar Jackson a great quarterback. It's great."

The stakes for this game are clear and the contest should be rather chippy and physical. The rivalry between the two teams will be on full display, and this is something the league needed to cap off the 2025 regular season.

Steelers Are Fueled By Revenge Heading Into Sunday Night Football

Pittsburgh won the first matchup with Baltimore in the 2025 season, but the team had its 2024 season ended by the Ravens. Pittsburgh travelled to Baltimore and got completely embarrassed on Wild Card Weekend in the playoffs last season, and the Steelers should be fueled by that game. The Steelers gave up nearly 300 rushing yards in the contest, and the team was a complete laughingstock. The taste from that loss lingered throughout the entire offseason, and Pittsburgh should be looking to avoid something similar happening on Sunday.

Baltimore is looking to avenge its loss from earlier in the year, while the Steelers want to avoid being sent home by the Ravens for the second season in a row.
