The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the playoffs as the team will host the Houston Texans on Monday night at the end of Wild Card Weekend. The Steelers are hosting a postseason game in front of fans for the first time since 2017, and the fan base is excited as Pittsburgh will have a chance to end the near-decade long streak of not advancing in the playoffs. The AFC seems to be relatively wide open, which makes this opportunity in the postseason especially exciting as the organization is hunting for its seventh Lombardi Trophy.

Pittsburgh took down the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18 to win the AFC North and clinch the four-seed in the AFC, and the Steelers have a tough task ahead of them with Houston coming to down. The Texans are one of the hotter teams in the league as they have won nine consecutive games, and they also roster the best defense in football. Pittsburgh is an underdog going into this matchup, and the St. Brown brothers recently spoke about the matchup on the St. Brown Podcast.
Amon-Ra St. Brown was adamant that the Texans would win easily, which shows he might still be upset about the Detroit Lions' loss to Pittsburgh earlier this season. Equanimeous St. Brown is confident in Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh.
"I know everyone wants to say, 'Texans this, Texans that,'" Equanimeous said. "Give me the Steelers. Give me A-Rod to fu**ing wipe them. I don't care. Give me Aaron Rodgers, give me Steelers. Let that warm-weather Houston team travel to Pittsburgh. I hope it's freezing up there. If there's anyone that can pick apart a defense, it's fu**ing Aaron Rodgers. I'm not worried about that. And watch the Steelers' defense lock that sh*t down. Watch them turn up. Playoff football, they're fu**ing turnt. They're not losing."
Amon-Ra might have been a little biased in his opinion due to how his Lions lost to the Steelers just a few weeks ago as mentioned, but the opposite can be said for Equanimeous. He played with Rodgers while the two were with the Green Bay Packers, and he was a pretty consistent target for Rodgers during the 2018 season. He is confident in his former quarterback going up against one of the better defenses in the NFL.

Equanimeous also made a good point that does go in the Steelers' favor, and that is the weather conditions. It is going to be below-freezing on Monday night at kickoff, and Houston is not used to playing in that kind of weather. The Texans play in a dome for their home games, and other than that, the team only played five games outdoors during the 2025 season. Only one of those matchups was truly cold. That game came against the Kansas City Chiefs on December 7th, which was the last time Houston played outside.
It will be interesting to see if the weather effects Houston, especially on offense. Defense always travels well, which means Rodgers needs to be on top of his game when it comes to diagnosing what the Texans are doing throughout the game. He is coming off of a great game against Baltimore, which hopefully is a sign of what is to come.
Steelers' Young Offensive Line Will Be The X-Factor In Playoff Matchup
Houston rosters one of the best defensive fronts in football, and that is paired with arguably the best cornerback duo in the league. This means Rodgers is going to need to be protected against some elite pass rushers, and he is going to need some time to allow his wide receivers to get open against good coverage corners.

If the offensive line for Pittsburgh can play one of its best games of the season, the Steelers have a great chance of advancing in the postseason.
