Apparently Gambling on NFL Games as a Player Is Not Okay

The NFL continues to force feed gambling, and betting into your face, but apparently it is not okay for you to gamble on NFL games if you're a player.

Today the NFL suspended Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley for the entire 2022 season for gambling on NFL games in season.

Ridley left the Falcons during the season to deal with personal issues.

A since deleted tweet from Ridley.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have an official contract with BetMGM. You see the signs all over Heinz Field, the Pennsylvania turnpike, internet stories, you name it.

I could understand if Ridley was playing in a game, and betting on the opposition, like Pete Rose did. But this seems a little over the top.

This is the first case of such a thing in NFL history. We will see how the NFLPA reacts to this news, and I bet they'll try to fight it.

Also, if you thought for a second the Steelers may be interested in trading for Ridley. That one is out the window.
