It is official, Cam Heyward is going to finish his playing career with the team that drafted him. According to Jeremy Fowler, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Heyward have agreed to a 4 year extension making this the richest contract for a defensive player over 30 in NFL history.

Fowler then tweeted a little more detail in how the contract breaks down.

This means Heyward will finish this year's salary paired with his signing bonus, which should lead to a low 2021 salary and possible roster bonus next year. This would help the Steelers who are already projected to be significantly above the cap floor of $175M next season.
