The Pittsburgh Steelers' recent signing of tight end Eric Ebron may have flown under the radar a bit since coming off a rough 2019 season with the Indianapolis Colts, but let's not forget the Pro Bowl season he had just two years ago.

While Ebron's numbers did not jump off the page during the first four seasons of his career with the Detroit Lions, it was clear during his first season with the Colts that he was finally able to play to his full potential.

During his first season in Indianapolis, Ebron was tied for second in the league with a career high 13 receiving touchdowns as well as finishing the season with career highs in receiving yards (750) and receptions (66).

Surprisingly Ebron only started two games in 2019 and suffered a season-ending ankle injury last November. Now with a new season approaching, there is no reason to believe Ebron won't be able to return to his Pro Bowl form, especially with the return of Ben Roethlisberger.

Although the numbers may appear inconsistent at a glance, Ebron has made exponential progress over the course of his seven-year career. The 27-year old former top-10 pick appears to be getting better with experience, and if that's the case, the Steelers may have themselves their first Pro Bowl tight end since Heath Miller in 2012.
