Today has been an exciting day in the Steel City for the Pittsburgh Steelers as the first day of minicamp at Heinz Field is underway. Defensive stars such as T.J. Watt and Terrell Edmunds have already taken to the media and given their impressions on Day 1, expressing their overall excitement.
Head Coach Mike Tomlin also spoke earlier today and was asked if there should be any early injury concerns. Coach Tomlin as always was quite blunt in his response:
"None concerning. None whatsoever. You know I don't talk injury in great detail this time of year, I'm not required to do so. But rest be assured, if I thought something was significant, I would address it with you guys."
Coach Tomlin said there were no injuries that were concerning today.

There was also speculation on an apparent injury to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during today's 2-minute drill, and also to wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster. ESPN's Brooke Pryor asked if Coach Tomlin could elaborate, as well as NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. Coach simply put:
"I won't."
Funny enough, he was again asked a similar follow up question regarding offensive guard, David DeCastro. His response was quite similar and he added that responding to these types of "injuries" at this point in time are "not required," noting especially that he thinks these alleged injuries aren't significant.
Coach T further addresses Edmunds' fifth-year option, the team's vaccination rates, and the maturity and progression of defensive back, James Pierre.
Coach Tomlin said everyone is in attendance for minicamp, with the exception of Stephon Tuitt who is dealing with a family tragedy. He said everyone is keeping Tuitt and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
