Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker TJ Watt has certainly started his season with a splash. Watt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after the week 2 game against Denver, and now he's snagged another honor - being named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September.
Watt has done nothing short of terrorize opponents, shutting down the run-game and attacking quarterbacks on every single down. He registered 3.5 sacks, 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 10 quarterback hits, 2 passes defended, and even an interception all in just 3 games.
"He was pretty awesome a year ago to be quite honest with you," head coach Mike Tomlin said. "I know he has an intention of being continually better, so he's still writing that story."
His story, which began in 2017 as the Steelers' number one draft pick, has been nothing short of outstanding thus far. And hopefully this season, he'll be able to add on "Defensive Player of the Year" and "Super Bowl Champion."
