Pittsburgh Steelers' legendary wide receiver, Antonio Brown, has been making headlines off of the gridiron ever since he left Pittsburgh and was traded to the then-Oakland Raiders. His most recent headline comes from when he tweeted saying that he wants to replace Shannon Sharpe on FOX's Undisputed

Steelers former wide receiver, Antonio Brown, is back in the news again.

Undisputed

Undisputed is a sports talk show that airs every morning during the week hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless. The show has become extremely successful due to the two co-hosts differing opinions on every sports topic imaginable, which often leads to arguments and disagreements that will be seen posted all over social media. The show has been running for 7 seasons since 2016, however the show will soon be looking for a new co-host since Sharpe has decided to leave the program.

Different reasons have been cited for Sharpe's departure from the show, it has been said it was because of tweets made by Bayless following the Damar Hamlin incident during the NFL season. Others assume it is because of the growing fatigue that comes with hosting a show with a personality like Bayless, who is widely considered stubborn and frustrating to work with. It is expected that Sharpe's last appearance on the show will be after the 2023 NBA Finals are concluded. FOX Sports has not made it clear what they will be doing to replace Sharpe on the show, but Antonio Brown has made sure to throw his hat in the ring.

Antonio Brown's Steelers Career

Brown had a legendary career in Pittsburgh, playing there from the time he was drafted in 2010 until he requested a trade after the 2018 season. Most of his time spent with the Steelers, he was considered the best wide receiver in the NFL. Brown ended up 2nd in franchise history in receiving yards and 2nd in receptions, while tallying 74 touchdowns with the team. Brown also made countless memorable plays in Steelers history. He sealed the AFC North division on Christmas day in 2016 by reaching over the goal line with just :09 seconds left in the game to give the Steelers the win over the Baltimore Ravens

Trouble Off Of The Field

Since being traded away from the Steelers, Brown has shown erratic behavior and been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. So much so, that his off of the field actions have overshadowed his legendary football career with the Steelers and winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as recently as 2021. Brown has been cited multiple times for domestic violence, sexual assault, and inappropriate behavior on social media. In addition to these crimes, he has also tried to launch a music career, took his jersey off in the middle of a NFL game, and walked off the field.

Brown recently became an owner of the Albany Empire, a National Arena League team which he has also been in the news for recently. He has been accused of not paying his players on time as well as stating that he would also like to get on the field, while trying to recruit former NFL players to play with him.

Would FOX Sports Hire Brown?

While being on a show that is essentially a gigantic argument about sports might sound like something that would be interesting to watch if it involved Brown, it is unlikely that it will ever happen. Brown's tweet was likely a joke. Even if it was serious, he would be far too large of a liability for FOX to even consider putting on live television.
